On June 21, 1943, a group of professional artists in Logan, UT created the Logan Artists Group. By combining efforts the artists aimed to avoid public misconceptions concerning art, especially modern art. Calvin Fletcher (1897-1866) was a state senator, lawyer, businessman, and farmer. He was elected prosecuting attorney for the Marion County Circuit Court in 1821, and served as state senator from 1825-1833. Fletcher was appointed director of the State Bank in 1834 and later organized the Indianapolis Branch Banking Co., also known as the Fletcher and Sharpe Bank.
